In Memory of Gerry Erickson, Father of the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa
In June 2007, Gerry Erickson was acknowledged by Executive Director Kate Whitrock for his many years of dedication and service to the HSNWIA. His commitment, especially in the early years of the organization, led to his being named the "Father of the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa". The shelter was built to the standards we see today, in a large part, because of Gerry's effort and expertise. His wisdom and financial skills brought a dream to fruition from the first turn of a shovel through the completion of this fine facility. We will ever be grateful. It was with a great deal of sorrow that we learned of his passing. Gerry will be missed by all of us. We wish his wife, Mary, peace and comfort in the knowledge that he was held in high regard and that his memory will live on at the HSNWIA.
